ARTIST/PRODUCER/SONGWRITER
About DeLyzer
DeLyzer is an LA-based artist, producer, and writer, originally from Toronto, Canada, who has been creating and engaged in the music industry as a multi-tool man for more than a decade. He has written songs with Ken Lewis (Kanye West, One Republic, Lorde), Maggie Lindemann, Jenna Andrews (Lennon Stella, Noah Cyrus, Benee), Jackson Dimiglio-Wood (Shawn Mendes, Mario), Richard Craker (Liam Gallagher) and has produced alongside Greg Fidelmen (Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers), Neil Sanderson (Three Days Grace), and Shawn Crahan (Slipknot). He has released tracks on Sony, Universal, Armada, Gemstone, and AWAL, and has music featured on Netflix, CTV’s The Launch, and The Voice. He has worked internationally in over a dozen countries including with Russian superstar Emin, JØRD from Brazil, and popular Dutch producers ESH and Julian Calor, but still loves to collaborate with fellow up-and-coming Canadians like Maggie Szabo, Lilianna Wilde and JP Maurice. As a producer, his aim is to pull genuine emotion out of an artist – a story – and capture the raw energy in the room. Though he’s produced everything including pop, rock, folk, R&B, and dance, he favours anything that can juxtapose professional polish with charismatic grit. With a BFA degree in poetry, his lyrical skills are sharp, and his deep roots as a skilled audio engineer allow him to be comfortable within every aspect of the creation process. When the global pandemic struck the music industry and studio sessions quickly became a thing of the past, DeLyzer relocated to the jungles of Tulum, Mexico, where he wrote and self-produced his debut EP as a solo artist. His new collection of songs are slathered in overdrive, fuzz distortion, and sexuality, drifting between blues riffs, 80s dream synths, and deep-pounding 808s; all the while tethering chromatic tendencies. Featuring fellow Canadian artist Lilianna Wilde, the first single “Pretty Girls” was inspired by a passage in Jack Kerouac’s book The Dharma Bums and is about the consequences of lust. With multiple single releases slated throughout 2021, concluding with a full album this May, DeLyzer’s debut is imminent. Like rain in the distance, you can see it coming.
